U.S. Senate Passes $1.2 Trillion Spending Bill

On Thursday, the US Senate gave its final legislative approval to a $1.2 trillion spending bill that will keep the government open through September 2017.

President Donald Trump is expected to sign the measure before the deadline on Friday.

According to a report, GOP and Democratic Senators voted in favor of the bill, which passed 79 to 18. While the spending bill fails to include many of the items Trump has requested in the past, he is expected to sign it before midnight Friday.

According to sources on Capitol Hill, the Pentagon's funding increases under the measure while Democratic priorities, including health care subsidies are also funded as well.
